We live in Kennewick, Washington. Kennewick along with Pasco and Richland are the Tri-Cities of Washington State.
Unlike Seattle, which a lot of people think of when they hear Washington State, the Tri-Cities does not get a lot of rain. In fact, the average rainfall here is only six to seven inches per year. Any area that receives less than twelve inches of percipitation per year is considered to be a desert, and yes, we do have types of cactus that grow here! The Tri-Cities area receives about 330 days of sun per year. The abundance of sun combined with irrigation systems makes the area one of the top alfalfa producing regions in the State. The region is also growing as one of the top wine grape growing areas. |
